Mofusand

Mofusand began as an illustrator's work and grew into one of Japan's most beloved cat brands, built on a deceptively simple gag: soft, round cats wearing costumes. The signature is the shark-cat, a kitty poking out of a shark suit, but the same cats also dress as bees, frogs, dinosaurs, fried shrimp, and just about anything else, always with an expression of total sincerity.

Its rise came largely through social media, where the tiny illustrated "nyans" racked up devoted followers before conquering plush, keychains, and stationery. The humor is gentle and the execution is irresistibly squishy, which is why fans of quirky, character-led cute can't get enough.
